The 2014 Twitch incident was an incident that occurred on October 24, 2014. It resulted in the termination of two administrators from the Roblox Corporation.

Incident[]

Shortly after ending a segment of the 24 Hour Extra Live event on Twitch, the administrators hosting the event turned off the camera but unintentionally left the microphones on. This resulted in the broadcasting of their discussions to Twitch. The Twitch broadcast included extreme obscenities and disrespectful remarks about Roblox.

After being repeatedly uploaded to YouTube, Roblox tried to sweep the incident under the rug by filing copyright claims to videos exposing them. The videos may have not fallen under proper fair use laws, which allowed them to claim the videos.

In a Twitch interview between david.baszucki david.baszucki is a notable creator or influencer verified by Roblox Corporation. Learn more. and blockhaak, it was revealed some administrators were terminated from the company for violating Roblox's core values. All administrators terminated from the company were also issued an account termination. JacksSmirkingRevenge and b1tsh1ft were known to have been terminated within days of the live stream. JacksSmirkingRevenge later had his account termination lifted for undisclosed reasons.

After the incident, the topic was commonly discussed in all sections of the forums, with some threads appearing on Suggestions & Ideas asking to rehire the administrators. There was much disagreement within the Roblox community as to whether the termination of these administrators was fair.
