A character (previously Costume and formerly Outfit) is a set of marketplace items that may be worn and that are saved in a slot, along with a set of body colors and a name that describes the outfit. Characters are available in a tab on the character page on the website and the Roblox app in the Creations section under the Characters tab. From that page, the current character appearance may be saved as a character, and existing characters can be worn, renamed, deleted, updated to correspond to the current character appearance and downloaded as an image.
The feature was released on September 27, 2013; it had been developed by MerelyMerely is a notable creator or influencer verified by Roblox Corporation. Learn more. during his 2013 internship. It was later announced on the day of its release by a blog post.[1] Up to 50 characters can be saved.
In November 2018, outfits were renamed to "Costumes", and later "Character". Bundles were moved to the "Purchased" section under characters.
