arbirator

Ollie Borlase,[1] known by his Roblox username arbirator, is a British Roblox user best known for being the creator and Editor-in-Chief of the Roblox fansite Roblox News, a fansite that provides in-depth information about Roblox maintained by the community that was active from 2009 to the end of 2015. He was also interviewed by the Roblox staff in the Roblox Blog[2] and at the BLOXcon 2013.[3]

arbirator is also a part of the Retexture Artists Official Channel, an invite-only community where the members could create and submit retexture submissions for Roblox.

Roblox News[]

Roblox News was founded in 2009 and gained popularity in 2011 after being added to Roblox's Developers' Journal (now known as Newsroom) blogroll by Shedletsky.[4] During that year, Roblox News was featured by the Roblox staff at the ROBLOX Rally 2011[5] and achieved more than 150,000 page views. The fansite had also won the Best Fan Blog award in the ROBLOX Game Conference 2012, which contributed to the increase of all-time page views to 449,317 by the end of 2012.[6]

Retexturing Contest[]

From 2011 until 2014, Roblox News ran a series of contests known as the Retexturing Contest, which is a contest where participants were tasked to create a retexture of an existing Roblox items. Some of the contests were sponsored by Roblox administrators such as Shedletsky[7] and BrightEyes,[8] resulting in the winners' items being published as actual items to the marketplace.
