Undead Nation ROBLOX Gameplay Trailer

Official trailer of the game

Undead Nation (formerly Call of the Quarantine) is a story-based FPS zombie game owned by Exeplex which was made on October 7, 2008. The main goal of the game is to get through 14 chapters while facing hordes of zombies. According to the description, this game gained popularity during 2011 to 2015.

It should be said that it's been discovered that Exeplex has stole the original version of the game from a game called Nano Infection.

History[]

Call of the Quarantine

Early image of Undead Nation back when it was known as "Call of the Quarantine."

The game's initial release was somewhere between 2011 and 2012. During this point, the game was named Call of the Quarantine and it would become fairly popular, having gained quite a few players from the looks of it. Sometime after its release, the game was renamed to Undead Nation.

In 2018, Experimental Mode was removed, which subsequently forced all games to automatically have filtering-enabled.[1] Undead Nation, which was developed without filtering-enabled, was included. This made the game defunct since players could not join the lobby anymore. This remained due to Exeplex's inactiveness.

However, in 2019, Exeplex had became active and started updating the game. In July 16, Exeplex released an update which made the game support replication filtering and the new terrain. Exeplex later started developing another first-person shooter game called Alpha.

On July 3, 2020, an update was released, adding 5 new weapons and a new chapter.

Players spawn inside the lobby. If the game have not started yet, they can join the lobby to start the game. Optionally if a chapter is unlocked, they can vote to start from that chapter. If the game has already started, new players start out as spectators. In order for spectators to join during the game, they must wait until the survivors reach a new chapter or when reinforcements arrive where spectators have the option to join the game.

During the game, players must cooperate with each other to advance. If the entire group dies, they will have to restart the chapter or play another chapter/mini-game.

Tools[]

Tools are an important feature of the game as players use them to fight against zombies and progress throughout the chapters. Most tools require players to reach their certain level for it to become unlocked and purchased. Few certain tools are linked to game passes.

  • Detained Zombies [Unknown HP] A different species of zombies. The group eventually finds the gate and unlock it by pressing a button in a building near it. The group runs towards the gate, but being halfway through, super fast zombies starts chasing behind them. The group quickly passes through the gate, and then closes it behind.

Chapter 2 — The Outskirts[]

The group spots the city wall that has been demolished, which caused the infection to spread. They come across a temple, but the doors close and they get ambushed by 3 waves of zombies. After the 3 waves, the sand boss spawns and starts fighting the group. They have killed the sand boss first. Later, a teleporter appears on the left side of the temple and the group presses it, which teleports them inside a volcano.

Chapter 3 — Fire and Ashes[]

The group continued fighting the zombies while walking and finding a way out of the volcano. When the group arrives at the center, they are forced to fight the lava boss. After defeating the lava boss, the group revives a transmission from an individual.

Chapter 4 — Sky High[]

The gate opens and the group fights and make their way across a canyon before coming to a power station.

Chapter 5 — Control Tower[]

They unlock the door that leads to a radio tower. They attempt to send a signal. Soon after, they fight 3 waves of zombies. After the waves, the signal is sent.

Chapter 6 — Nano Den[]

The group stumble upon a nano den, where a zombie traps them. A single nano mite appears but instantly kill it. The nano king appears completely enraged and tries to kill them, the group manages to kill the nano king and demolish 3 walls to escape the nano den.

Chapter 7 — Elemental Mentality[]

The group stumbles upon an abandoned military facility. "Elemental" zombies appear and try to kill them, but the group manages to kill them first. A storage room full of elemental zombies also attempt to attack them but fail. They are sent back to the sand boss room and must kill it again. After killing the sand boss, the USMC thinks they lost contact with the refugees. When making their way, they get sent back to the nano den where the mist boss burns a nano mite. The USMC does not pick them up and instead an unidentified militia dressed in Frag Vests appears to rescue them. Unbeknownst that the leader is the mist boss, they agree and board a helicopter. Soon after, the leader turns into the mist boss and the helicopter crashes into a field.

Chapter 8 — Dark Chase[]

The group stumbles upon a door but it's completely sealed shut, so they use explosives instead for 12 waves of zombies. After, they come across sniper zombies and a gate which requires 2 buttons to open. Once they open the gate, the Mist boss appears next to a truck but vanishes when they get towards it. The group must use a truck to chase the mist, where it vanishes into a metal gate. They find a building where the button required to open the gate is hidden. When they push the button, the gate is open for them and they must continue the chase from there, where they are halted by a roadblock. They chase it on foot, leading into a mine shaft.

Chapter 9 — Mine of the Mist[]

In the mine shaft, they find a USMC marine hiding. They tell the group they've tried barricading the mine shaft, but the mist broke in and rampaged throughout the entire mine shaft, allowing zombies to enter. Because the zombies still remain inside the mine shaft, the group are forced to fight them off along with soldiers supporting them. After, they come across infected soldiers, which were easily killed. The mist boss appears after they finish off the remaining zombies and try to kill off the remaining survivors, but the group manages to kill them off first. They receive transmissions from the Marines saying the mine shaft is being overrun. A "secret portal" appears the group goes inside it.

Chapter 10 — The Under[]

They are sent to an underground area, where elemental zombies have completely taken over. They slide down an ice hill and see two eyes inside a dark cave, which teleports them to a desert behind a large building.

Chapter 11 — Xolbor[]

When they cross the bridge, they find a settlement completely full of uninfected people and a working civilization. The settlement creator, XOLBOR, greets them in a positive manner. He tells the group that two tests have been assigned to them: One is taking out a large horde of zombies assaulting the settlement. Once the horde is finished off, XOLBOR gives them their second and final assignment: to investigate an electrical outpost which has gone silent. They retrace their steps over the bridge, showing the building's door open. Inside they find two people: one is deceased and the other is inert & dying because of a wound. When they restore power, the inert worker tries warning them that the settlement is a set-up by XOLBOR to sidetrack humanity away from his nefarious intentions on the world.

Chapter 12 — Revelation[]

The group views the CCTV footage in which XOLBOR enters the outpost with a pistol before opening fire on the workers. Since XOLBOR knows the group has turned against him, he uses the automatic turret to annihilate them. They avoid the turret using cover, blowing up a wall in the process. The hole shows the settlement completely ruined and overrun by zombies. When they reach the HQ, they find no trace of XOLBOR other than a hole in the floor where XOLBOR has hidden. The hole reveals a destroyed lab, overrun by zombie scientists and security units. A test subject tries killing the group, but they manage to kill him first to use his DNA for a door. When they open the door, they stumble upon a large room with XOLBOR standing in front of the group. He starts discussing that he started the infection because of a failed project to resurrect dead soldiers and, although shocked when it started, viewed it as his only opportunity to control the world. Because his zombies failed to kill the group, XOLBOR decides to end them himself by mutating into a nearly invincible entity. When XOLBOR dies, he reveals himself that he was a puppet of another, stronger being.

Chapter 13 — A New Force[]

The group teleports into an otherworldly place in which they stumble upon "detained" zombies. The group fights them and goes into the building which has a black sphere. The door closes and the group fights a detained figure. When they finish the detained figure, the sphere explodes and are sent to a house. The group went outside and onto the road. Regular zombies appear. Suddenly, detained zombies appear as well and forms a horde. The group reaches the gate, but it is closed and the group tries to find a way to get it open. Suddenly, everything has blacked out and the mysterious voice interrupts.

Chapter 14 — Metro Disturbance[]

The group fights through the tunnels and the metro system. While fighting against the zombies, the group operates a door leading to a tunnel. However, the group finds it flooded and it begins to flood towards the group. The group flees into a room, and after the flooding stopped, the group leaves the room and continue fighting through the tunnels. After exiting the tunnels, the group suddenly finds a heavy zombie, which was later called as a Brute due to its abnormal strength. The group manages to defeat the heavy zombie. Considering that the Brute apparently has mutated more than other heavy zombies, the group has thought of that if the city was first to be exposed to the infection, zombies might have mutated beyond anything they have seen, potentially evolving beyond a cure.

Hidden Keys[]

The hidden keys is used to unlock the survival mode 101 and 317. The 101 key is found in chapter 1, in the house that has a car. The 317 key is hidden in the lava in chapter 3.

Sequel[]

In 2013, Exeplex created a new sequel named Undead Nation II. It has features unlike the original, such as the new gun system. In 2014, Exeplex announced that the game will no longer continue its development, due to numerous game-breaking bugs found in the game. Exeplex later set the game inactive. Back when Undead Nation was known as Call of the Quarantine, this game was completely different, being called Call of The Quarantine: Radiation Zero. In 2021, the chapters from Undead Nation II were in the main game in the form of a chapter called Metro Disturbance.

Controversy[]

On November 3, 2022, a YouTube video was uploaded by a YouTuber by the name of vBloodz that called for help to contact Exeplex to discuss rumors and alleged information of Exeplex stealing Undead Nation from another game called Nano Infection by the user boom4444444. It also accused Chapters 1 to 6 in Undead Nation of being ripped straight from Nano Infection.

On April 27th, 2023, a YouTube video was uploaded to YouTube by a YouTuber by the name of Breadian documenting the chapters of the game and accusing Exeplex of using exploits to steal the game Nano Infection from boom4444444 back in 2012 under the name Undead Nation. In the video, a personal account from boom4444444 stated that Exeplex already had multiple games on the front page under his belt, so because of this Undead Nation rose to popularity while Nano Infection fell into obscurity.

On May 16, 2023, Exeplex released a video on YouTube admitting to stealing the game back in 2012 while also explaining his side of the story while apologizing to his fanbase and to boom4444444.

On May 28, 2023, Exeplex added a link to Nano Infection in the games description.
