The Developer Console from place developer's perspective.

The Developer Console from player's perspective.

The Developer Console (also known Dev Console for short) is a special window that can be accessed by pressing F9 on a standard keyboard, or typing "/console" in the Chat. It allows any user to view errors coming from the Client, and the game owner to view errors coming from the server. Additionally, the developer can run a command server sided.

Trivia

  • Unknown to most people, searching "GraphicsTexture" in the player's developer console allows the player to see all of the decals/textures used in the game, along with all the clothing/face textures of other players in their server.
  • Searching "Sounds" in the developer console allows the player to see all the audio IDs used in the game.
    • All the audio IDs are arranged from the highest memory to the lowest, so music is usually at the top and sound effects are at the bottom.
    • For some experiences, all the audio IDs are listed at once, but for other games, it will only show the audio currently playing.
