Egg hunts (previously known as Egg drops) were special events in which eggs were scattered around one or multiple games which must be found by players. Each egg was different and has a different way to earn it. Egg hunts started in April 2008 and ended in April 2020.

Some eggs would've become limited items, usually if they were the hardest to find, and typically sell at around 200 Robux to 1,500 Robux on the Avatar Shop. 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2011 were the only years to not feature egg hunts or drops until 2021, where the egg hunt was instead replaced by another event.

It was originally believed by players that there would not be an egg hunt for the year 2020 and beyond due to the administrators' announcement of all events being discontinued and replaced with the now discontinued Live-Ops. Despite the announcement, an egg hunt for the year 2020 was confirmed when chewbeccca posted on the Developer Forum looking for games to participate in the event after Live-Ops was presumably discontinued.[1] [2]

Metaverse Champions

Metaverse Champions was an event released on April 15, 2021 and was the first "egg hunt" to feature such few eggs (just one).

The egg was called the Tiny Egg of Nonexistence. The egg was a troll in Egg Hunt 2008, being the first egg hunt in Roblox. This egg was the last egg in 2021 on Roblox. If you look at the game for Metaverse Champions, you can see a badge with the description being "goodbye." to symbolize egg hunts being removed from Roblox permanently.
