The Forever 21 Shop City is a collaborative experience developed collectively by Wonder Works Studio and Virtual Brand Group, and sponsored by Forever 21. The "Shop City" experience was published under the "Forever21 Shop City" group on Roblox.

Gameplay[]

The experience mainly comprised of a tycoon-like gameplay aspect, similar to that of games such as Retail Tycoon and Restaurant Tycoon. Players could build and grow their very own clothing firm in this experience, with the aim of becoming a "Top Shop", a term used to describe player-made clothing firms that make it to the in-game leaderboard.

The experience was advertised in Wonder Works Studio's game, Overlook RP. A portal was added to Overlook RP which, when passed through, led players to the Forever 21 Shop City experience.

Collaborations[]

Forever 21 collaborated with multiple clothing designers to produce collections or individual items resembling clothing items sold by their brand.

Criticism[]

Criticism of the Forever 21 Shop City event revolved around Wonder Works Studio using stolen shading templates made originally by Kestrel. After designers on Twitter shared this claim, most notably cSapphire,[4] Wonder Works Studio replied to cSapphire's tweet on the matter [response tweet deleted], falsely claiming the shading was not stolen but that they would take the items offsale. Afterwards, Wonder Works Studio hired cSapphire and other clothing creators to create original clothing for their first collaboration, and have continued to hire original creators to make the content for their future original Forever 21 releases.
