A gift card is a card used for various online video games/platforms, usually for obtaining membership, currency, or, in some cases, exclusive items that can be used in the game/on the platform.
On Roblox, they are called Roblox Cards and may be used to purchase Roblox Premium or Robux (and formerly Builders Club (any tier). However, online/digital Roblox redemption codes, such as the ones present on Amazon, can only be used to redeem the Robux value equivalent of the virtual card. When redeemed, the user will earn an exclusive item depending on where and when it was purchased. They can be bought in increments of $10, $25, and $40 — in some cases, $5, $15, $50 or $10–100/$25–200 — in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. With the release of Roblox Premium, the gift cards section can be accessed by clicking on the gift cards button on the menu (formerly on the Events section and Builders Club page).
Roblox has used Roblox Prepaid Company, LLC,[1] a popular system used by businesses to create and distribute gift cards, since the creation of Roblox Gift Cards.
On January 22, 2021, a glitch occurred in which, if a user redeemed a gift card from CVS, it would grant them every single CVS gift card item to be released throughout the years.[citation needed]
On July 1, 2020, the original "roblox.com/gamecards
" link was updated to redirect to "roblox.com/giftcards
", possibly due to the redundancy and unnecessary maintenance of having both links running, as well as an attempt to help modernize the site (since Roblox Gamecards were renamed to Roblox Gift Cards).
Roblox Credit[]
When a Roblox gift card is redeemed, the full Roblox Credit (card value) from the Roblox gift card will be added onto the consumer's account. It is equivalent to the value(s) of the different gift cards and can be used to purchase Robux or a Roblox Premium subscription.
An update made in October 2019 allowed users to convert leftover Roblox Credit to Robux.
Release[]
The first Roblox Gift Cards were released on September 26, 2010, at the children's toys retailer, Toys R Us, in the United States. Roblox gift cards can now be found globally at different retailers in the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, among other places.
Use[]
A Roblox Gift Card can be used to buy Robux or a Premium subscription. The consumer can scratch off a gray security bar on the back of the card which reveals a PIN code number. The PIN code can then be typed into the Gift Cards section of the website, where, if activated by a cash register, it can be redeemed. Roblox gift cards can also be used to obtain certain exclusive items (sometimes related to the time of year), depending on the amount or store; when redeemed, the items will be added to the consumer's Roblox account. The available items change monthly and can be viewed in the gift cards section of the website.
PIN Code Formats: 1234567890 - RBXXXXXXXXXXXX / RI-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
