GoBlocks was one of three names that were considered for Roblox during its early development.[1] David Baszucki and his team registered this site on December 2, 2003.[2] GoBlocks is commonly confused with GoBlox, an unrelated early 2000's server hosting service.[3]
The name was later scrapped in favor of DynaBlocks on December 12th, and finalized to Roblox in January 2004.[4][5] 5 variants of goblocks.com are used as redirects to the Roblox website.[6]
At BLOXcon 2013, during the "State of ROBLOXia" presentation by CEO David Baszucki, a reference to GoBlocks was shown when an early mockup of the DynaBlocks website was presented. The "GoBlocks" Section of the video is in the browser shown at 6:25. This further confirms that GoBlocks, DynaBlocks, and Roblox were the three names that were considered, although Roblox CEO David Baszucki never mentioned GoBlocks while speaking.
