Gucci Town was a Roblox event that started on May 27, 2022, and ended August 12, 2022. It was sponsored by Gucci. The event was developed by The Gang Stockholm, known for the Vans World.
The first phase of items in the event were available from May 27 to June 17, followed by a second phase of different items from June 17 onward. On April 13, 2023, the event featured a collaboration with the Vans World event.
The event experience was closed on September 23, 2023, and was replaced by Gucci Ancora Fashion Show, with the experience instead being developed by Supersocial.

June 11th glitch[]
On June 11, 2022, a massive loophole was discovered in the Gucci Town event that allowed the infinite duplication of the already-existing limiteds which were the Brown Gucci Blondie Bag 1.0 and its second version, the Brown Gucci Blondie Bag 3.0.
Method[]
The glitch only worked if you happened to have at least one badge that you could have received for completing the quests and then purchasing the Gucci Brown Blondie Bag. In total there were two badges, one for the 1.0 version and one for the 3.0 version.
The glitch only worked when you sold the 1.0 bag on the avatar shop and also deleted the badge that corresponded to the 1.0 version. Upon re-joining the Gucci Town, after meeting said criteria, the game would create an entire new copy of the already existing limited and give it to you for free. The game would also re-award you with the badge that corresponded to the specific bag. The same exact method also worked with the 3.0 version.
The news spread like wildfire and many users with a premium subscription began to quickly sell the bags, delete the badges, re-join the experience and repeat the process. Many users were doing the glitch so rapidly that the game would only award new bags to users who joined higher ping servers.
Many of the three thousand users who had originally purchased at least one bag had also purchased the other, (most-likely to make more profit upon selling them after they went limited) which allowed users to make double profit. (since they could sell both bags)
Within 30 minutes of the glitch, the prices of both bags lowered to 200, which hasn't been seen since 2016-2018 due to market inflation that began in early 2020 making the cheapest limiteds raise to 800-1K.
It took Gucci around 6 hours to finally fix the issue, and by that point most of the users who abused the method made almost 30K-100K each with the glitch. The 1.0 version originally had 6,232 copies which rose to 27,640 copies after the glitch ended. The 3.0, likewise, had 6,347 copies which rose to 34,183 copies after the glitch had ended.
Many users expressed their dismay over the loophole that caused hundreds of thousands of Robux to easily be created within this time period. Many users used their newly earned Robux to purchase other limiteds and avatar accessories in fear of Roblox voiding their Robux.
This hasn't been the first time a duping glitch happened. Back in 2019, 3 Limited Unique items broke which allowed the duplication of those items as long as you had enough Robux above their original price. They were Torque the Blue Orc and Ruby Archfey Visage.
The duping glitch had a few side effects, such as many cheaper limiteds lowering from 800-1K down to nearly 500 as less Robux was being spent on those items, therefore causing a slight deflation.
Reception[]
Historically Gucci, with their past 2 events, have not made their experiences fun for users to enjoy. Gucci Garden was practically a sale rather than an event and the Achille Lauro concert's color block game was broken and tedious to complete due to multiple reasons such as there only being one winner each round and a few minutes cooldown. However Gucci Town included a style of game similar to Epic Minigames with there being easy- yet challenging obbies, spleef matches and other minigames which many users have enjoyed. Although collecting Gucci crystals still proved to be a bit grindy and time-consuming, Gucci Town has been known to be more favored compared to the other 2 past Gucci Events.
Many users still criticized Gucci and Roblox for having the sponsored limiteds being locked behind a quest barrier instead of just being able to buy them, as doing week-long Gucci letter hunts and other repetitive tasks proved to be annoying and boring. Other users challenged this idea by explaining that with these tasks, fewer people would care to complete them, effectively making the bags rarer to obtain. Many users also became frustrated that it took over six hours for Gucci to update the limited badges to stop the duplication of the blondie bags that were being manipulated and sold by traders.
