Live-Ops (also referred to as Developer Events) is a Roblox system which replaced the event feature. It aims to better spotlight games by upcoming and established developers by featuring a few games on the splash page each day. This system does not provide catalog prizes, as developers are recommended to make their own in-game prizes for users who participate. Live-Ops were intended to begin on May 13, 2019, but were delayed until May 16th (3 days after Egg Hunt 2019: Scrambled in Time ended).

On November 13, 2019, it was announced that Live-Ops will be put on hold on November 21, 2019 as the system was being reevaluated. It is expected that Live-Ops will return in 2020.

Criticism

The Live-Ops system has been heavily criticized for its lack of catalog prizes. Users argue that this defeats the purpose for both developers and the players to participate in Live-Ops, as the games should provide catalog prizes instead of in-game rewards to allow greater customization for free-to-play users (particularly those who desire Robux but are unable to purchase it), although there are still promotions which have items available in the catalog (e.g. Godzilla: King of the Monsters). Users have also argued that this system ends traditions such as the egg hunts, Hallow's Eve, and other seasonal events.
