The word "Noob" (sometimes stylized as n00b or nub, also a slang term for newbie) is a word initially part of the universal internet jargon, but now is only primarily used within online games including ROBLOX, the original definition meaning "someone new" now completely gone as of August 2, 2012. On ROBLOX, "Noob" is used to describe someone who engages in activities that break The ROBLOX Rules or are doing things that are found offensive/annoying/frustrating to other users, i.e. killing people on their own team, deleting other people's creations. They are not the same as "newb", newbs mean new and noob mean annoying or a new person who won't learn. The person to the right is a noob who won't learn or has just joined.

Standard Looks

The stereotypical Noob usually contains one of the three things:

  1. A player with a blue Torso, yellow Head and Arms, and green Legs. This look was common for a noob at around 2008-2009, now it is taken in amusement by veterans and sometimes looked apon.
  2. They sometimes have the shirt with a "R" in the top right corner or the Bloxxer T-shirt.

Modern Looks

The Noob looks of ROBLOX had little changed over the years with actual new players, only that:

  1. Most modern noobs have light blue Legs, white Head and Arms, and a randomly picked color for the Torso.
  2. The Red Roblox Cap (usually males)
  3. Pinktastic Hair and ROBLOX Girl (usually females)
  4. Sometimes have the shirt with a "R" in the top right corner or the Bloxxer T-shirt.
  5. On rare occasions some noobs will wear Shirts, T-Shirts, Pants, Hats, and Gear that are usually free or have low tix prices.

Modern Day Usage of "noob"

People call others noob due to spawnkilling, spamming, scamming, or because of inappropriate behavior. A handful of people who get frustrated easily on Roblox are occasionally prone to using the word noob to irritate or insult another player. The word noob is also used by people to help incite trolling, flaming, ect. Shedletsky often uses the word "noob", in game. It is unknown why he says it. The person to the right is a "noob" who is annoying.

Dressing like a "Noob"

As mentioned above, veterans sometimes look upon people who have shirts and T-Shirts that make them look somewhat like a noob. There are quite a few shirts out there that can make a user look like a noob. Typically, changing the color of a user's torso and limbs can assist in making the user look like a new player. Longer-playing users who dress like noobs sometimes wear expensive hats, like a Top Hat, a Fedora, or the Void Star. Also some people like to wear "noob" costumes for Halloween.
