On Roblox, paid access is used to refer to an experience that charges a one-time Robux price in order to allow the user to be able to visit the experience. The feature was introduced on June 26, 2013.[1] It is most commonly used by developers who want their experience to have an early access period where users can pay to visit the experience before it is released for free, or by experiences that permanently charge a one-time fee.
If a visitor tries to join the paid access experience without owning it and attempts to join the experience (by joining a server under the Servers tab), the visitor will be greeted with a 524 error code.
An example of a game that was originally paid was Welcome to Bloxburg. Before June 15th, 2024, it was only playable after paying 25 Robux, though this is no longer the case.
