Nickverse was an official Nickelodeon roleplay crossover experience on Roblox that was created by Paramount Game Studios, a division of Paramount where the player can explore areas centered around various Nickelodeon franchises. This experience was released on March 14, 2023, in beta and March 31, 2022, officially, and was officially licensed by Nickelodeon. This game features iconic Nickelodeon characters. As of 2023, this game currently more than 14 million visits, 10,000 likes, 4,000 dislikes, and 82,000 favorites. This game has been shut down and privated and replaced by SpongeBob Simulator and TMNT: Battle Tycoon.^[1]

Description[]

Nickverse is an experience officially licensed by Nickelodeon and Nickverse is only available and can only be played on Roblox which the game is officially engined by. The experience features content related to the Nickelodeon shows shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Loud House, The Fairly OddParents, The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius, Henry Danger, Big Nate, Tyler Perry's Young Dylan, and That Girl Lay Lay. Despite this, only the SpongeBob and Avatar maps are in the game. Nickverse does have a central obby in the map as well, though it isn't located at the racetrack. Despite this, Nickverse also has a neighborhood which is also not located near the racetrack. The experience also has private servers for free but the limit appears to be one but the private servers are later removed for unknown reasons. The maximum players per server is 40. There are skins for Mrs. Puff and Larry for 300 Robux although Mrs. Puff doesn't seem to be at her boating school and Larry also doesn't seem to be at Goo Lagoon. Here is also a minigame at the Krusty Krab for flipping Krabby Patties for Red vs. Blue. Jellyfish can also be caught at Jellyfish Fields.

Gameplay[]

When the player joins the game they will be seen in the Nickelodeon blimp, SpongeBob and a Nick worker welcomes the player to the Nickverse world. The Nickelodeon blimp arrives at the Nickelodeon hub. They meet some of the Nickelodeon characters and the player can participate in world events, drive vehicles on the racetrack, do quests, explore SpongeBob and Avatar worlds, etc.

History[]

Nickverse was announced on Twitter by Nickelodeon with its release trailer^[2] and it was released in its closed beta on March 14, 2022, before being fully released on March 31, 2023. The game had over 13 million plays. The game had evolved through the years as well as lots of updates and promotion events releasing such as the 2023 Kids' Choice Awards one. Around March 2023, the main hub area was revamped with a new racing game. This game was an official Roblox game as it was licensed by Nickelodeon as the game never got content deleted for copyright claims although other unofficial Nickelodeon games were content deleted due to Roblox Copyright and trademark infringement. On October 5, 2023, Nickverse was officially shut down and private.

Development[]

Nickverse was developed by Paramount Game Studios with the help of @Paramount_Dev and a few other creators. This has been leaked on Twitter sometime 2022 prior to its release by Nickelodeon. This game was released in March 2022 which 14 was the beta release and 31 was the real release. The game is also available on the Paramount Game Studios group.

Promotional events[]

This game had an event for the 2022 Kids' Choice Awards event around March 2022. Nickverse later had an event for the theatrical release for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 where there was an obby for the player to complete for an award.^[3]^[4] In October 2022, there was a Halloween-themed event as well as a Lucky Charms event.^[5]^[6] In December 2022, there was a Christmas-themed event called "Winter Wonderland." In March 2023, Nickverse released an event for 2023 Kids' Choice Awards along with a Lunchables promotion on building lunch statues for the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song.^[7] On June 19 2023, Nickverse released a limited time promotional event for Garfield's 45th birthday with an obby as well as a Garfield skin awarded for completing the obby.^[8]^[9]

Reception[]

This game was ranked as one of the best new games in Roblox's ultimate guide book 2022. This has made Nickverse one of the very popular experiences on Roblox. Nickverse also received ratings for how high quality it is.^[10] It was also confirmed that the game can be played by young people. However, As of sometime in March-April 2023, Nickverse has gained less than 50-100 players lately mainly due to the popularity of other Nickelodeon fan games on Roblox The game currently has more than 14 million visits, 10,000 likes, 4,000 dislikes, and 82,000 favorites.

However, some of them were scrapped from the game due to unknown reasons as they were not seen in the experience.

Not counting a cameo as tennis balls in Nickelodeon Extreme Tennis, this game marks the final appearances of Cosmo and Wanda's original designs before they were redesigned for The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish.
