Be an Alien: Renewal, sometimes shortened to BAAR, is a sci-fi building and roleplaying experience by PeZsmistic. In it, players can select from and roleplay as a variety of alien animals from Kiray, the world the game takes place on.
Likely due to its popularity and appealing alien designs, a number of fangames have been made based on BAAR featuring original aliens of varying relation to the ones in the original game. Most of these are little more than showcases.
In January 2018, Be an Alien: Renewal was a subject of an official blog post.[1]
Gameplay[]
Once the game loads, the player will start off as a random alien. They can either explore, build, or change their alien through the menu on the top right corner of their screen.
While playing, the player can press shift to enable or disable sprinting, and some aliens can fly by double-pressing the space bar. Many aliens can also swim by entering water, however can be disabled by pressing E while in the water.
The game also features a combat system. Most aliens have one or two attacks, a primary attack by pressing F and a secondary attack by pressing C. Using an attack depletes stamina even while PVP is disabled, and stamina can be regained over time.

Building[]
No matter which alien a player chooses, they will have access to a version of F3X which has had many laggy and abusable features removed. One alien, Spiddle, also has access to a tool that lets it construct webs. Some of the hotkeys for F3X and combat currently overlap.
As there is no build protection yet, however a system is being worked on to solve these problems, the game can occasionally be plagued with griefers. However, there is an in-game report menu which is very effective for calling moderators to the game to ban griefers. In order to reduce the chances of an innocent player being banned by mistake, the game has logs and a tagging system only accessible to moderators which can tell them exactly who edited or deleted what--sometimes even hours after the griefer left the server.
