Category review checklist

The intended category tree is below. Each of the categories on this page needs to be reviewed to make sure it follows all the items on this checklist:

  • The category has the correct name and the category page exists.
  • The categories appearing at the bottom of the category page—that is, its parent categories—correspond to what appears in the tree below.
  • The category has an adequate description, with one or more complete sentences that explain what pages appear in the category and with links to related articles if it makes sense to have them.
  • The category does not contain pages that should not be there. If there are such pages, they must be removed, but this can be done by a bot if there are a large number of pages to be removed.
  • If pages are supposed to be added to the category by a template, {{template category}} should be added at the top.
  • If the category is only meant to contain other categories and not to contain pages directly, this fact should be noted on the category page.

If you have verified that a category follows all the items on the checklist, add {{done}} after the category's name to indicate that the category has been reviewed. The category cleanup can be considered as done once all the categories have been reviewed.
