General forum rules

Regardless of what forum an editor is posting on, general rules must be followed. Posts or threads that do not meet these rules may be closed.

  • All of the user conduct policies apply to the forums
  • Threads must be posted in the appropriate forum. Each forum has a description of what types of threads are allowed. Threads talking about Roblox must be posted in the ROBLOX Help and Discussion forum.
  • While we encourage editors to express themselves, swearing is strictly prohibited. The Roblox Wikia is a kid-friendly environment.
  • Be nice and treat everyone with respect. People from all around the world read and edit this wiki. Like any other collaborative project, not everyone will agree all the time. Keep discussions civil and be open minded about differing opinions. We're all here because we love the same topic. Purposefully starting flame wars or personally attacking editors will result in moderation action.
  • Administrators may start super threads for topics that are frequently posted, such as new Roblox features, or controversial parts of Roblox. Please check to see that there is no active super thread about the topic that you want to post. Posting a topic when there is an active super thread will cause your thread to be closed. Additional posting rules pertaining to that topic may be mentioned within the super thread.
    • Discussions about Roblox moderation/bans or online daters are not permitted on the forum. New threads about these topics will be removed.

General comment rules

General rules must be followed on all comment pages. Comments may be disabled on a page if comment abuse becomes frequent.

  • All of the user conduct policies apply to the comments
  • Comments should pertain to the article's topic or the article itself. Posting silly comments like "first!", "lol", "OMG! I got banned!", "ODers suck!", and "I edited the page" do not promote discussion and should not be posted.
  • Comments should not contain any image unless it is being used to troubleshoot page issues. The wiki is not the place to post a picture of your Roblox ban.
  • Comments should not personally attack any user, including the person the article is about

Old or resolved threads and comments should not be posted on

Necroposting/Necrobumping is the act of posting on an old or resolved thread or comment stream. If you find something to be useful in an old forum post, give kudos to the person instead of posting a comment like "thank you!". Check before you post! If it was already replied to by an administrator and resolved and/or the last replied date is older than one month, don't post or respond! Your comment may be deleted, the thread closed, and additional moderation actions taken.

Game threads are not allowed

Editors may not post game threads. These are disallowed due to lack of purpose on this wiki, and due to behavior misconduct being rampant. Our Roblox Wikia Games project has replaced game threads.

The Advertisement Forum is a place where editors can advertise their Roblox creations. Posts that do not meet post requirements or violate the Advertisement Forum rules will be promptly removed.

  • Editors can only post a thread once every 3 days. Each advertisement post should be advertising a different Roblox item (ie: you can’t advertise your place and three days later make another post advertising that same place). Bumping a thread is strictly prohibited, and doing so to your own thread will have it deleted.
  • Items must be original Roblox items. Advertising stolen copies of that item is prohibited, even if the original item is offsale or unplayable. Items should follow Roblox’s rules.
  • The item or place must be created by the thread poster, or have some sort of direct involvement in its creation.
  • Titles must be generally explanatory, plainly say what the thread is advertising, and not be “clickbait” or misleading.
  • Respect to creators and their work should be in place at all times by all users.
    • Commentary by any user should follow our other policies.
    • All experience levels are permitted to advertise.
    • Criticism is discouraged unless asked for.
  • Any sort of begging for or complaining about Robux or other currency is prohibited.
  • The advertisement forum is not the place to ask for help finding a place or asset to particular specifications nor request something unless specified.
  • Outside of general group recruitment, help wanted or looking for work (including commission) posts are not allowed at this time.
Asset Type Requirements
Place
  • The title of the thread starts with “[PLACE]”
  • The place is currently playable.
    • The game should not be in an unplayable state. There should be a working purpose to the game.
    • If the place is paid-access or Builders Club only, it must be mentioned.
  • A description of the place should be included
  • There needs to be a minimum of three screenshots of the game. This does not include the game’s thumbnail!
  • The place should not be brand-new
    • There must be a non-default thumbnail
  • A link to the game’s Roblox page must be included.
Clothing
  • The title of the thread starts with “[CLOTHING]”
  • The advertisement is about more than one piece of clothing, such as a collection, or a compilation of recent clothing you’ve made- minimum 3 items
    • Items are considered any set of clothing that can be worn on its own. An outfit (a pair of shirt and pants that must be worn together) counts as one item.
  • A minimum of one photo per clothing item must be included in the post.
    • Recolors of the same item do not need to have separate images, but you should say what colors are available.
  • Links to the clothing item’s Roblox page must be included
    • Recolors of the same item do not need to be linked, but can be.
  • Prices of the clothing should be mentioned
  • No outright links to inventories or user-search catalogs.
Model/Script
  • The title of the thread starts with “[MODEL]” or “[SCRIPT]”
  • The asset must be something useful for other Robloxians. A model of your Robloxian or of a single brick should not be posted

  • A detailed description of the purpose of the model/script should be included
  • Links to the model/script’s Roblox page must be included

  • The title of the thread starts with “[GROUP]”
  • General information about the group should be included
  • Include the type of players you are looking for to join, with details if needed
  • A link to the group’s Roblox page must be included
