r/roblox is an internet forum hosted on Reddit. It does not have any official affiliations with the Roblox staff and Roblox Corporation. However, some of its moderators, such as BrianReddus, were formerly a Roblox staff member.[1] The subreddit also hosts its wiki pertaining to events, alongside a recommendation on genres of experiences. The subreddit also contains a weekly support thread for members concerning problems on the platform.

Its members partake in discussions of Roblox-related topics, and some perform commentary over particular issues regarding Roblox. Nonetheless, members can also distribute media, including their artworks, and other media which all related according to the forum's topic and Roblox.

Early Beginnings[]

Initially, the subreddit was not intended to be a place for discussion. Roblox also used to have a referral system that gave income to those who shared the link of Roblox towards unique websites. This led to an unnamed individual creating the subreddit on April 10, 2010, who then told it to Roblox. Eventually, the original creator would abandon the subreddit. Then, at some time, the old account of BrianReddus suddenly gained control of the subreddit and decided to grow it and delete the first post in the sub which was a spam.[2]
Growth and present[]
Within the early days of the subreddit, it had fewer mods, with some mods also involved in the moderation of Roblox Forums. In 2012–2013, there were only 50-500 members in the subreddit [3] before more members arrived in late 2013, which increased the member count from 500 to 1,000 members. Within 2013, the subreddit introduced its wiki.[4] In 2015, there were 3,000 members in the subreddit.[5] And in 2017, the subreddit finally exceeded 10,000 members. In 2018, the subreddit had accumulated over 39,000 members. In the same year, the subreddit created the weekly support thread, a question-and-answer thread in which players who encounter a problem on the Roblox website or experiences can reach out.[6]
