Roblox is released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It was released on both consoles first in the United Kingdom on October 9, 2023, and worldwide on October 10, 2023. The release date of Roblox's addition to the PlayStation 4 and 5 were announced at the Roblox Developers Conference on September 8, 2023.

History[]

On September 6, 2023, Button glyphs for the PlayStation 4 and 5 versions of Roblox were found in the game's files, hinting at an upcoming PS4/5 version of Roblox.^[1]

At RDC 2023, Roblox announced that the PS4 and PS5 versions were to be released the following month, along with showing a demo of cross play with Mobile, Meta Quest 2, and PlayStation 5.

On March 10th, 2025, Roblox announced that chat would be gradually rolled out for any experiences using TextChatService.^[2]

Hardware Differences[]

The PlayStation version of Roblox plays large experiences like at 30 FPS when the graphics quality is at max on PlayStation 4 hardware while smaller experiences play at 60 FPS. PlayStation 5 console plays every experience at 60 FPS, even at max quality, along with faster loading speeds. Similarly to Xbox.

Trivia[]

There are exclusive avatars only given to players with PlayStation Plus.
Some games have Xbox buttons since this console most likely formed the core for the PlayStation port.

PlayStation bugs[]

Current[]

When logging in to a banned account, there is a ban page, but pressing log out will restart the game and show the ban page again. The only way to fix this is by contacting Roblox Support. Pressing any blue links will not work and cause the background to zoom out.
Some low-resolution textures like pixel art and sprites appear blurry.
Menu ambience music sometimes can play in experiences.

Fixed[]

There is a chance Roblox will crash when loading certain experiences.
In experiences like Shovelware Studios Hollywood, data for badges in menus do not load.
Experiences like FRONTLINES may cause sounds to break and not play, which affects the entire console until the experience is closed or Roblox is closed.
- Recording during this bug will also cause the recording to have no sound.

Console version differences[]

The PlayStation version does not have the screen size setting due to the system already having such option in its settings.
When viewing the Robux page on the home screen, a unique PlayStation Store banner appears on the bottom right, as most PlayStation games must have this banner in their shops containing paid items.
