The Roblox Forum Archive is a digital archive founded by Froast. Launched in February 2018, it preserves discussions from the Roblox Forums before its closure in December 11th, 2017. Initially known as "Roblox Forum Archive Beta," it left beta in mid-2019. That same year, the archive underwent a redesign, introducing features such as an opt-out of search, search by keyword, a time machine, and an API for developers.

History[]

The Roblox Forum Archive was launched on February 14, 2018 by Froast to archive the content of the Forums. The initiative was undertaken following Froast's dissatisfaction with Roblox's decision to not retain a read-only copy of the Forums.[1][2] By August 2018, the archive faced potential closure due to high server costs resulting from the extensive database. Froast found themself personally covering server costs, as the funds from donations had been depleted.[3] In June 2019, an opt-out feature for search was added to the archive in response to individuals abusing the search feature to harass others based on past posts.[4] Later that same year, the website experienced a redesign and introduced additional features, including a time machine, keyword-based search, and an API for developers.[5][6]
