The Terms of Use (sometimes known as the Terms and Conditions) for Roblox are the legal agreements between Roblox and each user on the platform. Users must agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy upon signing up for a user account. The Terms of Use are subject to change. The Terms of Use cover activities such as purchasing Robux, using Robux to purchase items, interaction with other users, and creating items. The Terms of Use also include the Roblox Community Standards, the DMCA Guidelines and Policies, and the Roblox Name and Logo Community Usage Guidelines.
If a user is believed to have violated the Terms of Use by Roblox, moderation may take place on the violating item or user, in the form of an account suspension or content deletion, or putting an under review status if it is a place. Users may appeal incorrect moderation actions by using Violations and Appeals.
Community Standards[]
The Roblox Community Standards are a set of norms that outline acceptable behavior for users to follow. The Community Standards are organized into four sections: safety, civility, integrity and security. The Community Standards prohibits the following:
- political, discriminatory, romantic or sexual content (including online dating)
- extreme violence
- hate speech and profanity
- disruptive content or behavior, such as usage of bots and unintelligible or excessively loud audio
- intellectual property (IP) violations
- sharing personal information
- exploiting (cheating), scamming, and spamming
- using any method to gain unauthorized access to Roblox's systems or accounts, which includes the usage of VPNs
The Community Standards also regulate advertising on Roblox.
Off-platform links[]
The Community Standards do not allow linking to external websites or services except for YouTube, Facebook, Discord, Twitter and Twitch. The Community Standards require that the links must either be wrapped in PolicyService API or listed in the Social Networks and Social Links settings of a user profile or experience. The Community Standards do not allow users under 13 to be able to share off-platform links in any way including through the API.
Roblox TM Guidelines[]
The Roblox Name and Logo Community Usage Guidelines disallow usage of the name "Roblox" and any name similar to Roblox such as "Blox" to be used in the titles of experiences. However, experiences published before June 22, 2022 may continue to use the names in the title.
