The Rocket Launcher (originally called the Bazooka) is a long, gray BrickBattle weapon that shoots explosive rockets. It was added in June 2006 as a preset HopperBin light iconHopperBin dark iconHopperBin and later as a free model uploaded by Roblox Roblox Verified Badge. It is commonly used by games as a quick method for destruction in addition to its use as a weapon.

Appearance[]

The Rocket Launcher appears as a long, gray tubed weapon. It has a scope on the side but is not usable. The mesh for the Rocket Launcher is modeled after the Swedish Carl Gustaf Recoilless Rifle.[1] Launched rockets have a missile-like shape, inheriting the color of the team the player who launched it with is in (default is the BrickColor white). Launched rockets also have particles from a Fire light iconFire dark iconFire instance trailing behind it.

Function[]

A Rocket Launcher being used to destroy parts.

When equipped, the player can launch a rocket at a speed of 60 studs per second. The rockets move in a straight line and are normally unaffected by gravity. The Rocket Launcher has a reload speed of three seconds.

Once collided with a part, launched rockets create an Explosion light iconExplosion dark iconExplosion with a radius of 8 studs, dealing 60 damage to any character in that range and creating knockback. They go through water and parts if they are named "rocket", "handle", "effect", or "water" (all must be in lowercase) but will still explode if collided with the one who launched them. Some games, including Doomspire Brickbattle, also give an extra use to Rocket Launchers, allowing for the player to "rocket jump" from their own rockets to quickly gain vertical momentum.

History[]

The original HopperBin for the Rocket Launcher was created sometime in June 2006,[citation needed] then called the bazooka. They used to shoot studded meshless rockets, were slightly slower, and had a reload speed of seven seconds. The original version also had its mesh rotated 180 degrees from its current appearance.

The Rocket Launcher, along with the other BrickBattle gear at the time, was uploaded to the library on April 12, 2007.[2]
