Ghost Hunts[]

Ghost hunts begin when a ghost manifests and attempts to kill players. The lower your sanity, the higher the chance a hunt will occur.

When a hunt starts:

  • Lights flicker
  • Electronics malfunction
  • All exit doors lock
  • You’ll hear footsteps, a heartbeat, and a unique sound based on the ghost's model.

Cursed hunts are a more dangerous version of regular hunts. Unlike standard hunts, which are triggered by low sanity or specific ghost behaviors, cursed hunts are initiated directly by players using a cursed object. Once a cursed hunt is triggered, it ignores all normal rules and begins immediately—regardless of your current sanity level, the presence of a crucifix, or even if the ghost was recently cleansed.

Cursed Object Ways to start a Cursed Hunt
Spirit Board Cursed hunts will start if you:
  • Activate the spirit board and walk away without saying "Goodbye"
  • Say "Hide and Seek"
  • Ask it to tell you a joke and follow the sequence.
Summoning Circle To start a cursed hunt on a summoning circle, light all 5 candles. This will summon the ghost and start a cursed hunt. Shades will not hunt after being summoned. If you summon a Shade, they will stand there and then disappear.
Tarot Cards You must draw a Death card to start a cursed hunt while drawing tarot cards.

Spirit Boards and Summoning Circles are limited in how many cursed hunts they can initiate; each of them can only start a single cursed hunt per match. Once used in this way, they become inactive for the rest of the session. In contrast, Tarot Cards are capable of triggering multiple cursed hunts.

Evidence[]

Identifying the ghost in Blair involves collecting three distinct pieces of evidence, which are documented and tracked in the Journal. These pieces of evidence help narrow down the list of possible ghost types, ultimately allowing players to determine the exact entity they’re dealing with during an investigation. There are 7 types of evidence. They are EMF Level 5, Fingerprints, Freezing Temperatures, Ghost Orbs, Ghost Writing, Spirit Box, and SFS Anomaly.

Interacting with these items can trigger unique effects or events tied to the ghost, often adding risk and reward to your investigation. Additionally, taking a photo of a cursed object with the Photo Camera will earn you $5, providing an incentive to locate and document them.
