Crown Academy is a roleplay game set in a school that was created by Star Status. It was released to the public on August 21, 2020 after a paid access beta that began on August 14, 2020.

Gameplay

In Crown Academy, players can participate in various activities, explore multiple worlds, socialize with friends, and customize their avatar.

Character Customization

In a "Wardrobe" menu, players can customize every aspect of their avatar and wear different types of clothing and accessories such as hats, wings, crowns, skirts, shoes, and more. Although many items for character customization are given by default, but players can additionally purchase more items using pearls, the game's main currency.

Classes

In the Crown Academy world, players may attend five different classes on any given day which are graded and additionally give pearls and experience to level up. These classes include Art, Etiquette, Fashion, Math, Pet Care, PE, and Potions.

Worlds

Crown Academy is split into four different worlds: Crown Academy, Dream Estates, Enchanted Gardens, and Crown District. Each of the four worlds has different activities and lore to explore. These worlds can be accessed through physical portals, or the "Map" menu in-game.

Controversy

During Crown Academy's development, multiple screenshots were leaked that suggested Crown Academy was reusing code and assets from Royale High without permission.[1] Although these screenshots are not confirmed to be real, their release triggered a very volatile response from many players. Additionally, a lawsuit was filed against Star Status by Ice7, a Royale High scripter, for the same reason.[2][3] Star Status later filed a counter-suit against Ice7, confirmed by PixelatedCandy, the owner of Star Status. [4] The game appeared to be much different from the released screenshots upon the opening of the public access beta. Following the public release of the game, many players appear to have changed their opinion on the matter.
