Team chat is a feature of public in-game chat which allows a user to only send messages towards team members, while ignoring other players. It is activated by entering /t or /team at the start of a message.

Examples[]

% Advance up, we can get a better view there.
[TEAM] [Player]: Advance up, we can get a better view there.

The % character must be the first character. If any other character is inserted before the % (such as a space), it will show up in public chat. There must also be a space between the % character and the actual message.

%Advance up, we can get a better view there.
[Player]: %Advance up, we can get a better view there.

If a user literally types "(TEAM)" before the message, the message will appear in public chat, regardless of if it looks like it's in team chat.

(TEAM) Advance up, we can get a better view there.
[Player]: (TEAM) Advance up, we can get a better view there.

Usage[]

An example of where this function would come in handy would be in war or strategy games, where teams are pitted against each other. Members of a team can talk amongst each other about team strategies, where players are located, etc. without the other team finding out.

Without the use of team chat, other teams would be able to see the messages of team members.

You can get out of team chat by pressing ← Backspace in the chatbox.
