Rediscover the world of classic Roblox
The Classic's page before the start of the event[1]
The Classic was an event themed around "classic" or "old" Roblox. Similar to The Hunt: First Edition, this event featured portals to user-created experiences, with a central hub experience. Users could complete challenges across fifteen participating experiences to unlock limited-time event-related avataritems. Additionally, users could complete supplementary challenges in these experiences to unlock hub-exclusive benefits. The event started on May 23, 2024 and ended on May 28, 2024.
On May 8, 2024, Roblox CEO David Baszucki announced on his X (formerly Twitter) that Roblox was "experimenting with [...] new event types," following The Hunt: First Edition.[2] In the same post, he stated he had "been enjoying a replay of the first game [he] built on Roblox" and included a link to the experience Crossroads.[2] That hour, the official Roblox X account quote replied to his post with an eyes emoji.[3]
On May 10, 2024, the official Roblox X account quote replied to an old post asking users whether they would "bring back Old Roblox OR keep New Roblox" with "Soon, you won't have to choose..."[4]
On May 14, 2024, the event's start date, May 23, 2024, was announced in an X video featuring older accessories (creation dates spanning 2008-2014).[5]
Roblox posted a second video to X on May 17, 2024. The video begins with two players resembling John Doe and Jane Doe walking through The Hunt portals and slowly transitioning into The Classic map. The text "Events are back!!" appears before an explosion, then The Classic's official logo and start date appear on screen.[6] The same post announced that "From The Hunt to The Classic, events are officially back."
On May 20, 2024, the official event page went live, featuring a countdown to the start of the event and a frequently asked questions page.[8][1]
On May 21, 2024, a portal was added to the hub experience of The Hunt: First Edition to teleport to The Classic. Attempting to enter the portal and teleport before the event's start date will result in an "Attempted to teleport to a place that is restricted." error.
On May 22, 2024, Today's Picks were updated for all users to be changed to classic-related experiences. The sort was temporarily renamed to "Today's Picks: Ready for The Classic?", and featured Natural Disaster Survival, Speed Run 4, Crossroads, and Doomspire Brickbattle.
On May 23rd, 2024, when the event released, the hub experience of The Hunt: First Edition was updated with a live event, where the lobby glitched out with classic blocks spawning from the sky, and the players getting sucked into the Roblox logo, which teleported everyone in the server to the hub of The Classic.
Fifteen experiences participated in The Classic, each with fifteen event badges in total; each experience had five badges for Tokens and ten badges for Tix that could have been earned. Not all badges needed to be earned to claim all unlockable prizes.[1]
There are numerous quests that can be completed in the hub experience of The Classic event to earn additional Tokens and Tix.

Badges[]
This section is incomplete.
Please continue to add information to this section until it is complete.
There was a total of 225 obtainable badges across the 15 participating Experiences as well as the hub, 150 being Tix badges and 75 being Token badges.
There are 75 Token badges that you could have gotten in the participating Experiences and 10 Token badges that were obtainable in the hub, making it a total of 85 badges. Tokens could have been used to purchase prizes in the Exclusive Avatar Items pass. You had to accumulate 36 Tokens in total to obtain all four items.
Find a splatter of red paint in the Prototype environment. Film a clip of the paint to open a portal. Once the portal appears, go through it and film a clip with 1x1x1x1 to receive the badge.
There are 150 Tix badges that you could have gotten in the participating Experiences, and 16 badges in the Hub, making it a total of 166 Tix badges. Tix could have been used to purchase items within the Hub experience. You had to accumulate 74 Tix in total to obtain all five items.
After purchasing the normal prizes, items in the Bling Track can be accessed after claiming their respective counterparts while owning the Bling Track pass (600 Robux) or with the Treasure Finder or Timeless Valkyrie bundles, or be purchased separately for Robux. A grand total of 36 tokens is needed to get all the token-based prizes, excluding those in the Bling Track.
Given to the game developers participating in the event.
Ending[]
On the last day of the event, the Tix Machine filled up to its maximum capacity and exploded, which revealed an entrance to a room. The user has to locate four color-coded numbers hidden throughout the map and enter them into the keypad next to the vault. The order corresponds to the wires.
The numbers vary across servers, though all players get the same combination. The numbers are found in the following places:
Red: Near the portal to The Hunt, on one of the pillars
Blue: On the upper floor of the hidden base in The Moon
Green: In the Volcano
Yellow: On the Epic Duck statue.
Entering the vault will initiate a boss battle against 1x1x1x1, where your Rocket Launcher, Timebomb, and Superballs can deal damage to him. There's also a Linked Sword giver in the center of the room if you don't have either of these. Defeating 1x1x1x1 initiates an end credits sequence.
Trivia[]
This section is a trivia section. Please relocate any relevant information into other sections of the article.
The event is based on a retro theme style, which refers to Roblox events created in earlier times.
The first video teaser Tweet, on May 14, 2024, is captioned "10 days until things go classic", implying that the event will begin on May 24, 2024, instead of on the actual release date: May 23, 2024.
Despite this, the video shows the correct release date.
This is the twelfth time Roblox has offered a way for administrators to hand out unique items.
The Classic VIP T-shirt might be a reference to how experiences made shirts for VIP since game passes did not exist until 2012. In the description, it includes, "Who knows what doors it'll open for you!" This might be a reference to VIP-only doors.
The logo shown in the official logo at the top of the square is the Roblox Logo from 2015-2017.
When the event page first launched, the title of the web page incorrectly read "The Hunt Awaits".[1]
The hub, to fit the theme of classic Roblox, has the old starter place's house named Happy Home in Robloxia (2007-2010), its playground, basic trees and various old places from old Roblox, like Roblox HQ.
The font used on the event page is Comic Neue.
Gurt, the pig that originates from Egg Hunt 2018: The Great Yolktales, makes another appearance in The Classic lobby in which his model is simply hidden in a small area that's hidden by a wall you can walk through near the cart race track.
This is the 2nd time Gurt has appeared in a official Roblox event in 2024, with him also appearing in The Hunt: First Edition.
The loading screen of the lobby is a reference to the loading screen of 2006-2011, with Bricks and Connectors.
The checkpoints portals that teleport users from location to location within the hub are a reference to Roblox Easter Egg Hunt 2013, where the same portals were used to teleport users across the egg hunt map.
The portals function identically to how they did in the Egg Hunt: in order to unlock the portal, you have to first find it within the experience and then walk through it.
Throughout the map, there are several markings etched around the world that say "1x1x1x1".
Despite the event's "classic" themes, the default sky is used in the thumbnails.
The secret room in the Wardrobe Secret quest resembles the mobile Avatar Editor room from late 2016.
As a tribute to Kabosu (also known as Doge), Roblox added them to the experience where they're hidden in a cave like Gurt. When clicked, she barks.
Roblox invited Doors to participate in the event, but due to the upcoming Doors update, they had to decline that offer.
In an area of the hub, a portal to the hub of The Hunt: First Edition can be found, which can be used to teleport yourself to that hub.
During this event, the hub of The Hunt looks a bit different, with the differences noted below:
The countdown at the center of the hub shows the time remaining for The Classic to end, and the light is instead yellow.
At random times, a ‘glitch’ effect can occur on the player’s screen, revealing more classic buildings, trees, with chunks of ground beneath them.
The Backpack (or hotbar/inventory) style in The Classic is based on the November 2012 style.
On the same day the event started, Pull a Sword added their own classic event. Many people believed it to be part of the main event, even before the event started.
