The Hatch was an official egg hunt event.[1] The Hatch was additionally themed around the natural elements of the world, prominently featuring the elements of Connection, Light, Darkness, Fire, Earth, Water, Energy, Time, Ice, and Air. The event began on July 2, 2025 and ended on July 12, 2025.

On June 7, 2025, Roblox CEO, David Baszucki, shared an image on Twitter (X), depicting shards or fragments containing various elements such as Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Energy, Connection, Time, Ice, Light and Darkness. accompanied by the caption: "For the next Roblox event, we're thinking about honoring the structure of our universe. Everything is built with fundamental elements..."[2]
On June 9, 2025, the official Roblox account on Twitter (X) shared a string of emojis, "🌎🌊🔥🌪️⚡️💖⏳❄️💡⚫️", with each emoji seemingly related to the specific 10 elements of Earth; Water, Fire, Air, Energy, Connection, Time, Ice, Light and Darkness within the shards/fragments in the image Baszucki shared the day before.[3] On the same day, some Star Creators received a special package containing an egg along with a message from Roblox. The message read as:
- Hi, (Star Creator name),
- Curiosity should always be rewarded so we hope you like your gift. You probably have a lot of questions. Don't worry. You won't have to wait long to understand what this is about. Besides, all good things should have surprising elements, and there are plenty more to come. Although we can't say much now, that does not mean you can't share what you received to hatch a conversation. The Roblox community has proven time and time again that when they work together, they can figure anything out.

On June 11, 2025, The official Roblox accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Tiktok, Twitter (X), and YouTube shared a video teaser for the upcoming event titled "The Hatch". The teaser features several fragments, similar to the ones previously posted by David Baszucki, washing up on shore, with the start date and the event's logo marked in the sand. The accompanying caption reads: "It’s so close you can almost feel the water on your feet, the wind in your hair, the sunlight on your face, the…darkness at your back? #TheHatch is almost here."[5]
On June 12, 2025, the official Roblox account on Twitter (X) shared a post revealing that 1,000 developers are working on this event. This was also the first time Roblox shared the banner for "The Hatch". On X (formerly Twitter), the caption read: "The Hatch isn’t just another egg hunt. It’s going to be the largest one in Roblox history because we’re calling on 1,000 devs to help build it. Are you ready to start collecting?"[6]
On June 18, 2025, Roblox shared a series of teasers across all of their social media accounts, such as Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Tiktok, Twitter (X), and YouTube with each platform featuring a different video and a different caption.

- Roblox's official Facebook and Tiktok accounts both shared a video of an egg hatching, revealing a scene outside the eggshell that resembles a snowy glacier. The caption reads: "Are you looking out? Or are you looking in? Better yet, what lies ahead? #TheHatch".[8]
- Roblox's official Threads and YouTube accounts both shared a video of an egg hatching, revealing a scene outside the eggshell that resembles magma from a volcano. The caption reads: "What does summer have to do with lava? Maybe an adventure is heating up…".[9]
On June 23, 2025, the official Roblox accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Tiktok, and YouTube shared a video featuring a lava-filled egg hatching on a beach, with a depiction of an earthquake at the end of the teaser. The caption on most platform read: "No collection is complete without an egg filled with lava. And just think, there are 100s of other kinds waiting to be found. #TheHatch" and on YouTube, the caption was slightly modified or shortened. with the caption read: No collection is complete without a lava-filled egg. And there are 100s of others to find. This is also the first time a teaser was not shared on X, potentially because of the controversy surrounding the event.[10]
On June 26, 2025, The official Roblox accounts across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Tiktok, Twitter (X), and YouTube shared a video in which they mentioned that this event will be the biggest egg hunt in Roblox's history, as noted in the caption of their YouTube Shorts, also in the video it was showcasing a variety of eggs, each egg with its own unique theme. Additionally, the event's hub features a selection of different maps, which were also previewed in the teaser. The caption on most platform read: It’s almost time to embark on an adventure, Join The Hatch July 2-12 to collect, merge, and trade 100s of eggs across 100s of experiences. There are also free items to unlock and exclusive prizes to earn. On July 1, 2025, the official Roblox account on Instagram, Threads, and Twitter (X) shared an image showcasing accessories for the upcoming event, including the Eggcelent Carton Crown by CaioAlbarnBR, the Hatched Egg of Gold Necklace by bunnexh, the Eggcelent Eggpron by Mugalo, Eggy Sliders by Bad_B0y, and the Yolkette Backpack by Marubravery. After The Hatch started, Every 24 hours, The Hatch's event hub will held an in-game events.
Merge Mania[]
after The Hatch was started, the first in-game event called Merge Mania was held in The Hatch hub. The Merge Mania events took place on July 3rd[13], July 5th[14], July 7th[15] and July 8th[16]. During Merge Mania, players were able to receive discounts at the merge stations in each biome. For example, when merging Common Eggs into Primal Eggs during the event, the required number of eggs was reduced from 7 to 4. Similarly, for merging Primal Eggs into Mythic Eggs, the number was reduced from 3 to 2 during the in-game event.
Super Eggs[]
Super Eggs was a special in-game event held at The Hatch Hub. During this event, four unique eggs were available, the eggs was reflecting the themes of each Checkpoint's biomes. There are 3 Super Eggs, such as:
- Eggcentric Elementalist Hat, obtainable starting July 4th and could only be obtainable again during future Super Egg events. The Eggcentric Elementalist Hat was based from Emerald Wilds's Biomes, including Fire, Earth, and Water Biomes.
- Temporal Flux Core, obtainable starting July 6th, and similarly obtainable only during future Super Egg events. The Temporal Flux Core was based from Crackling Glen's Biomes, including Energy and Time Biomes.
- The Wing of the Winter Wind was obtainable starting July 8th, and similarly obtainable only during future Super Egg events. The Wing of the Winter Wind was based from Howling Heights's Biomes, including Ice and Air Biomes.
- The Prismatic E.G.G. Head was obtainable starting July 9th until The Hatch was ended (July 12th). The Prismatic E.G.G. Head was the only egg that requires you to complete every quests in The Hatch's hub, this eggs was based on every elements in The Hatch and every crack's color was a different elements. this egg can be obtained in Shifting Shores.
Cosmic Arrival[]
Before a cosmic arrival occurs, the telescope in the connection biome detected a meteor. On July 10th, the meteor landed near the spawn point of the Shifting Shores and light biome. Players are encouraged to donate or feed their common eggs from the corresponding element, which will help the meteor to crack open and release the eggs. If the meteor does not open upon falling, players can gather the common eggs easily that are scattered around the biome associated with the element the meteor was targeting.
Hub[]
The central hub for this event, titled "The Hatch," serves as the main hub for the event. Players can explore, glide, or travel through the Biomes within the hub, view the top players on the leaderboards, keep track of the eggs they have collected in their inventory, monitor the number of accessories they have unlocked in the inventory, complete various quests to earn eggs and accessories prize or super eggs, trade eggs with other players in the connection biome, merge eggs in different biomes at the each biome's egg merge station, plays the hub's minigames, and purchase limited-time items. Controversy[]
TheOfficiaITeddy's involvement[]
On June 17, 2025, greenlegocats123 discovered that TheOfficiaITeddy TheOfficiaITeddy is a notable creator or influencer verified by Roblox Corporation. Learn more., a user known for creating numerous games with inappropriate content, joined what was believed to be a testing place for The Hatch called "The Form".[22] As a result, RoCatchers, an advocacy group dedicated to exposing creeps on Roblox, shared a detailed explanation about TheOfficiaITeddy and circulated the trending hashtag #BoycottTheHatch.[23] Although Teddy was removed from the event as a result, the controversy has led to several games being pulled out from The Hatch event by their developers.[24]
One day later, asimo3089 on Twitter (X) shared a Discord screenshot of a statement from a Roblox Event Team on a private Discord server only for developers selected in the event stating that TheOfficialTeddy will not be participating in this event. The Discord message read: "Hi developers - Wanted to officially affirm and reiterate that TheOfficiaITeddy will not be part of this event."[25]
On June 20, 2025, Roblox responded to MiniToon MiniToon is a notable creator or influencer verified by Roblox Corporation. Learn more.'s tweet about Piggy deciding to pull out of the event due to the controversy.[26] Roblox's reply stated: "The safety and well-being of the Roblox community is our top priority. On top of our community standards, we have additional guidelines to qualify to participate in platform events. TheOfficiaITeddy should not have been invited; we have rescinded their invitation to The Hatch and have taken appropriate action in accordance with our policies. Our team is thoroughly re-examining the invitation list against our community standards and are re-evaluating these processes to ensure an additional level of vetting for our invitees going forward."[27] However, TheOfficiaITeddy's account remained unbanned, and thus the response was met with backlash.
On July 1, 2025, Roblox replied to the teaser for The Hatch shared on June 26, 2025 with a newsroom update stating that TheOfficiaITeddy TheOfficiaITeddy is a notable creator or influencer verified by Roblox Corporation. Learn more. had been banned. The caption reads: "Following further on-platform investigations, new action has been taken against TheOfficiaITeddy. For details on the decision, please visit our newsroom below."[28]
Alleged use of generative AI[]
There have been widespread rumors on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting that the promotional image on the event's page was generated by AI, based on the background, eggs, and sky in the image, which contain imperfections typically associated with AI-generated content.[29] There is also some speculation that the eggs in the event will also be generated by AI, leading people to conclude that the event itself will serve as a tech demo for Roblox Studio's Cube 3D generative AI model, similar to how The Haunt showcased the screen capture feature.

- It is the first time an Egg-Themed event was held in 5 years, however egg prizes were officially distributed during Metaverse Champions and The Hunt: First Edition.
- It is the second time an Egg-Themed event was held in the summer, with the first time being Eggstravaganza 2010.
- It is the first Egg-Themed event to not include "Egg Hunt" or "Egg" in its name.
- Strangely, there is little to no references or callbacks to any of the previous Egg Hunt events hosted on Roblox.
- The egg-hatching mechanic from Egg Hunt 2013 returns in this event, except the player can keep the egg in their inventory even after it hatches.
- It is now tied with Roblox Holiday 2017's Mountaineers as the lowest-rated Roblox event of all time with a 21% rating.
- This is the first official Roblox event to include 17+ games, specifically Mic Up 17+ and ALADIA PVP.
- This event is currently one of Roblox's most disliked event in history, and is also the first event that several top developers decided not to participate in.
- This events lobby, if you count all Biomes and lands that come along with it as seen in the map in-game, is easily the largest Event lobby ever hosted by Roblox.
- There are multiple references throughout the Biomes and The Hatch locations in general to classic Roblox drink items such as Bloxy Cola or Witches Brew, specifically, the 4 seen and mentioned during The Classic from May 2024.
- In the Air Biome in the Howling Heights, there's a rare chance to see a cloud being pumped out from either of the 2 cloud machines near the entrance of the biome releasing a cloud that is formed to look like Gurt, the iconic, beloved Pig from the Egg Hunt 2018: The Great Yolktales Event. This is Gurts first appearance in a official Roblox Event since The Haunt in October 2024, and ironically, the first time Gurt has appeared in a Roblox Egg Hunt lobby since its debut in Egg Hunt 2018, since it wasn't seen anywhere in the Egg Hunt 2019 lobby, and Egg Hunt 2020 didn't have an official lobby to begin with.
- Coincidentally, The Hatch was hosted a little over 10 years after the very first "Dev Hunt" event, which was the Roblox Easter Egg Hunt 2015.
- The Hatch is the first Egg Hunt since 2010 to only have less than 20 traditional Egg Hunt Egg like avatar items, with their only being 16 Eggs that you can wear and that cover your entire Roblox characters head or is placed on top of the head.
- If you count the collection eggs in the inventory, this Egg Hunt easily has the most unique separate eggs, with over 110+, more than any other Egg Hunt in history if you include the wearable ones.
