  • February 17 – At around 12:50 PM PST, the Roblox 5th Annual Bloxy Awards live stream begins. Shortly after beginning, the live stream starts experiencing technical difficulties, eventually breaking completely.
  • February 18 – Innovation 2018 event ends. Grand Prizes are handed out.
  • February 19 – Roblox President's Day Sale 2018 ends.
  • February 21 – Text Truncating is released.[2]
  • February 26 – Roblox's YouTube channel hits 1 million Subscribers and there was a limited time Promocode (!onemillionclub!)
  • February 28 – Roblox adds the Add Phone Contacts as Friends feature on iOS 9.0+ and Android 7.0+ for users over the age of 13.

March 2018

  • March 3 – Jailbreak becomes the second game in Roblox history to hit one billion place visits and the first game to reach one billion visits in under a year.
  • March 6 – The Snoopy event begins.
  • March 7 – Roblox's localization tools are released.
  • March 11 – The Avatar Context Menu is released.
  • March 12 – Ready Player One event begins, with many players having trouble finding out the location of the copper key.
  • March 14 – A user by the name of JaseWoof finds the Copper Key in Jailbreak.
  • March 16 – The Kids' Choice Awards 2018 event begins. (Some countries do not see the event pop-up in the event bar.)
  • March 17 – The Search bar breaks for unknown reasons. Also, a user by the name of Maplestick finds the Jade Key first in Phantom Forces.
  • March 20 – A user by the name of Sandfall123 finds the Crystal Key in Hexaria.
  • March 24 – The Kids' Choice Awards 2018 event ends.
  • March 28 – The Egg Hunt 2018: The Great Yolktales begins.
  • March 30 – The old "Sign up" and "Log in" buttons are revamped, changing the Sign-up button color to green, and the login screen was also revamped for when you're signing in.
  • March 31 – More languages were added.

April 2018

  • April 1 – For April Fools' Day, Roblox and Fifteam made a Fifteam egg and put it on the top of the Grand Library's chandeliers. The user does not get the egg when attempting to obtain the egg. A lot of users got pretty bamboozled. Disney also claimed possessorship to Roblox on Twitter.
  • April 4 – Random Anthro assets were leaked on @RBXLeaksAuto's Twitter. Also, r0cu won the Ready Player One Adventure, winning the Dominus Venari and The Wings of the Pathfinder.
  • April 5 – Fifteam releases the Fifteam Egg for real this time, as well as a new world in the Egg Hunt called "Fractured Space".
  • April 6 – Purchases and Trading were temporarily disabled and Roblox goes on maintenance.
  • April 9 – The Snoopy event ends.
  • April 11 – The Ready Player One event ends.
  • April 12 – The power symbol buttons on the Develop page resembling "Active" and "Inactive" buttons are replaced with an eye. The "Active" button (now renamed "Public") button is a green button with an eye and the "Inactive" button (now renamed "Private") is a gray button with a cross in the eye.
  • April 16 – The Hack Week 2018 begins.
  • April 17 – The Atlantis event begins.
  • April 18 – Pokémon Brick Bronze gets deleted due to copyright infringement from Nintendo, beating Adopt And Raise a Cute Kid's record on most visits on a deleted game.
  • April 19 – Roblox removes comments on gamepasses to decrease scams. Additionally, Lua widgets are released, allowing users to create their own studio widgets in plugins.
  • April 20 – Egg Hunt 2018: The Great Yolktales ends.
  • April 22 – Roblox celebrates Earth Day and releases recycled themed items.
  • April 26 – Roblox adds a feature where you can join your friends game in the party chat.
  • April 27 – Roblox moves all terrain tools into a terrain editor in Roblox Studio.

May 2018

  • May 1 – The Atlantis event ends.
  • May 15 – The Roblox Battle Arena (2018) event begins.
  • May 17 – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) blocked all access to Roblox and several other gaming sites following an order by the country's attorney general, who deemed the game “uneducable”, “inappropriate” and "damaging to children's health". However, a petition on was made to unban the game, which encourages the authorities to unban the game.
  • May 19 – "Develop" button was replaced by the "Create" button. 4 buttons were different on the site.
  • May 22 or 23 – Shift lock was fixed.
  • May 25 – Roblox Memorial Day Sale 2018 begins.
  • May 26 – Mining Simulator passed Jailbreak becoming the first game to beat Jailbreak on all devices (Booga Booga isn't included as it was only available on PC at the time of it beating Jailbreak). The game Iron Man Battles also becomes popular.
  • May 29 – Roblox Memorial Day Sale 2018 and Roblox Battle Arena (2018) events end. Grand prizes for the battle arena were then handed out on June 1.
  • May 30 – An Avatar update is launched, which moves the scale box to the "Body" category and Roblox adds the Body Type feature and Proportions.
  • May 30 to May 31 – Roblox experiences issues and errors. Some users Were unable to access games and the site took longer to load. The avatar page was also unavailable. Roblox has tweeted that their site was down, or "not working as they expected."

June 2018

July 2018

  • July 4 – 4th of July Weekend 2018 ends.
  • July 4 – Hundreds to thousands of innocent users get their accounts terminated. The reason of these bans was "unauthorized and disputed charges". This was caused by a glitch in the audio refunding system, as confirmed by InceptionTime.
    • A glitch in the audio refunding system refunded accounts twice the amount of Robux that was supposed to be given, and as a result of the moderation system, automatically terminated accounts.[3]
    • This mass amount of false moderation causes a loud uproar from the community, with the admins getting criticized by the community. Users continue to spread the word on YouTube, Twitter and the DevForum and any other social media sites.
  • July 4 – An exploiter uses an 18+ script in a non Filtering Enabled game to perform inappropriate actions on a 7-year-old girl's Roblox character. This provoked Roblox to remove non-Filtering Enabled/Experimental games from sorts. Attention to this incident is brought in several news websites. The exploiter was permanently banned from Roblox.[4][5][6][7]
  • July 10 – Roblox Universe (2018) event ends.
  • July 10 – Roblox adds a star symbol for users who are in the video creators program.
  • July 13 – Users under the age of 13 are no longer allowed to play Experimental Mode games unless they are friends with the owner or they are the owner.[8]
  • July 17 – An error causes all Roblox games to become inaccessible and causes other various glitches in the website.
  • July 18 – Murder Mystery 2 becomes the third game in Roblox history to reach one billion visits.
  • July 20 – All users can no longer play Experimental Mode games unless they are the owner of the game or a friend of the owner.
  • July 25 – The Roblox website experiences faults that cause the site to go down for some users temporarily.
  • July 25 – Roblox removes Experimental Mode after harsh criticism from the community. All games that were restricted as a result of being in Experimental Mode have been made public again., however, this also caused many old games to break as a result of their scripts being incompatible with FilteringEnabled.
  • July 26 – A DDoS attack happens: The website is temporarily marked unsecure, and displays a 502 error. Later on, the Friends list, front page, and catalog also encounter glitches. Users would encounter errors upon attempting to join games, and some players would also play as a Guest instead of playing on their accounts.
  • Jailbreak becomes the first game on Roblox to reach 2 million likes.

August 2018

  • August 1 – Gray coloring is added around users and friends profile.
  • August 2 – Roblox Summer Tournament (2018) event begins.
  • August 4 – Project Pokémon and other popular Pokémon fangames such as Pokémon Fighters EX and Pokémon Universe are deleted by Roblox for violating copyright, similar to Pokémon Brick Bronze.
  • August 5 – MeepCity becomes the first-ever game on Roblox to reach two billion place visits.
  • August 6 – All outfits on the Avatar Page are changed to R15.
  • August 13 – Social Media links are released, allowing developers to link up to three 3rd party websites for users that are over 13.[9]
  • August 14 – Some players begin experiencing an error when starting up Roblox that reads: "Disconnected due to security key mismatch". This was quickly fixed with a response from the staff team.[10]
  • August 16 – Roblox Summer Tournament (2018) event ends.
  • August 24 – Some players experience a bug in Studio resulting in some games becoming unable to be edited. This was quickly fixed by the staff team.
  • August 27 – Roblox announces the platform's 12th birthday, and publishes a promotional hat to accompany this — 12th Birthday Cake Hat.[11]
  • August 28 – Beta Testers are released, Only Users Follows Into Game.
  • August 31 – Labor Day Sale 2018 event begins.

September 2018

  • September 3 – Labor Day Sale 2018 event ends.
  • September 4 – Roblox adds the Follow Game feature.
  • September 6 – Roblox Imagination (2018) event starts.
  • September 7 – Thumbnails on games become free to upload, instead of costing 10 robux.
  • September 10 – Game icons have been edited, now showing the percentage of likes when not hovered over. And when the user hovers over it, the game icon expands slightly.
  • September 11 – NFL event begins.
  • September 12 – Roblox Creator Challenge event ends.
  • September 14 – An "Invite friend to play" button is added to the menu bar in-game to replace parties.
  • September 17 – On your home screen, there is a row of 72 games you/your friends are playing or were recently playing rather than the six you recently played.
  • September 20 – Roblox Imagination (2018) event ends.
  • September 20 – The home page now shows the 6 games you recently played again.
  • September 25 – The grand prize for Roblox Imagination (2018) is awarded one day faster than it was supposed to be.
  • September 26 – The Roblox logo loses its color for unknown reasons, being white in the website and desaturated in the new tab. Also around this date, the Roblox blog receives a revamped UI, being almost completely dark in appearance and more of the game's blog posts are now present on a single page.

October 2018

  • October 5 – New Voxel lighting is added.
  • October 11 – Users can now link groups through Social Media Links.[12] Additionally, Work at a Pizza Place becomes the fourth Roblox game to reach 1 billion visits.
  • October 11 – NFL event ends. Additionally, Roblox acquires the PacketZoom company, making their first-ever acquisition of another company.[13]
  • October 15 – Packages are renamed bundles.
  • October 17 – Roblox does a moderation sweep which bans many clothing botters. Unfortunately, the ban sweep banned innocent people who are believed to have owned clothes from the clothing botters that were banned. This was heavily criticized by the community.
  • October 18 – Hallow's Eve (2018) event begins.
  • October 22 – Rthro body scaling is added, this action is heavily criticized by a lot of users.
  • October 23 – The first Rthro bundle, Knights of Redcliff: Paladin, as well as the Rthro Animation Package, is released.
  • October 27 – A bug has been reported at 4:55 PM that players can't teleport to other games.
  • October 29 – My Feed has moved to the left tab where you can access stuff such as Friends, Messages, etc.

November 2018

  • November 1 – Roblox changes their logo from red to black, then hours later change it from black to white. The reason for the change is unknown, The Disconnected tab is changed from a red tab to a grey tab. It also now has a reconnect button for those who lost connection, and The default R15 animations are changed to the Rthro animations.
  • November 7 – Studio packages are released publicly.[14]
  • November 8 – Jailbreak becomes the second ever game on Roblox to reach two billion place visits.
  • November 9 – A site-wide bug causes many users across the site unable to join a game and instead receive an error window saying "Error Code 610". This bug lasted over 24 hours before it was fully resolved.
  • November 13 – Random users suddenly receive hundreds to thousands of Robux through the Revenue Conversion category.[15]
  • November 14 – Roblox Winter Creator Challenge event begins.
  • November 15 – Roblox has shut down at 10:00 P.M Pacific Time.
  • November 17 – Hallow's Eve (2018) event ends.
  • November 20 – The Aquaman event begins.
  • November 20 – Bots start joining games and advertising Free Robux sites. They cannot, however, go into paid games.
  • November 21 – Roblox sends messages to users who falsely received Robux (see November 13th) stating that they will be moderated if they spend any of it until the issue is resolved.[16]
  • November 26 – Roblox adds social links to groups, allowing groups to set up to three social media outlets.[17]
  • November 27 – Roblox adds localization configuration to a place's title and description. [18]

December 2018

  • December 3 – A major glitch happens, replacing every image with an error image.
  • December 3 – Action event starts.
  • December 9 – Roblox changes the play button, replacing the word "Play" with a right-facing triangle.
  • December 10 – Roblox is having an issue around 5:50 PM CST.
  • December 12 – Roblox releases a new group interface for Roblox Beta members.[19]
  • December 14 – The Events section in the sidebar is updated to include the event logos in black boxes.
  • December 18 – Roblox faces another issue at 10 PM.
  • December 18 – Roblox adds a feature where you can now hide your inventory from public players. [20]
  • December 25 – Everyone can no longer delete items from Roblox inventory. [21]
