January

• January 18 – The first item in the group overhaul becomes available on the Creator Dashboard.
• January 31 - All existing non-Limited face accessories that cost less than 50 Robux migrate to the new price floor.

February

Roblox new in-experience menu bar as of 2024

• February 4 - Many old terminated accounts become unterminated, though renamed to roblox_user_[User ID] through a bug that enabled users to claim old account usernames for themselves.
• February 5 - Roblox releases automatic chat translation to the public, supporting 16 languages.
• February 21 - Roblox updates the in-experience menu for most players. Highlights of this interface include easier accessibility to voice and video controls, the ability to report a player or an experience more quickly, and the health bar now residing on the left side of the screen.

March

• March 1 - Roblox releases the Korblox Deathwalker for a limited time.
• March 2-5 - Roblox announces that the Roblox App for Apple devices running iOS 11 would no longer be supported on April 16th of that year. 3 days later during the announcement, it was also announced that the app for Android devices running Android 5.0 (Lollipop) would no longer be supported by the end of April.
• March 8 - The "Builder" font family, seen in 2023 marketing materials, is publicly announced on the DevForum. "Builder" was added to the Creator Store which allows experiences to use it, and will replace the main Roblox UI font from old "Gotham" in all platforms later that year. Roblox also announces the removal of "Gotham" and "Arial" font in experiences effective by the end of May, in preparation for the replacement of "Montserrat" and "Arimo".
• March 13 - Roblox announces the 2024 Roblox Developers Conference that will take place on September 6-7 in San Jose, California.
• March 15 - The Hunt: First Edition event starts.
• March 16 - Welcome to Bloxburg unexpectedly went free for 10 minutes due to that day’s outage.
• March 26 - All the marketplace items need to review already existing comments, they'll remain in a read-only state until April 9, when Roblox will remove comments entirely to introduce more effective ways for you to receive feedback and engage with your community.
• March 29 - Roblox experiences an issue with a local Internet service provider in Vietnam, impacting users situated in Vietnam connecting to it. This adds extra criticism to The Hunt. For more info, see here.
• March 30 - The Hunt: First Edition event ends.

April

• April 8
  • Roblox A/B tests changing the default website font from "Gotham" to "Builder".
  • Roblox begins to phase out square icons.
• April 15 - Roblox officially releases Public UGC.
• April 16 - Roblox App for iOS 11 support is deprecated. The Roblox App now requires iOS 12 or later.
• April 18 - Roblox changes the website font from "Gotham" to "Builder". This is also for the Roblox Player and Roblox App on phone.

• April 19 - The Vietnam ISP issue is resolved.
• April 24 - Roblox deprecates hash API endpoints for assetdelivery.roblox.com (rbxcdn) to transition to a temporary CDN link system that is proprietary. It is possible that old CDNs may or may not remain a little while longer before being completely wiped; this means archiving place hashes circa 2006 to 2008 will no longer be possible, leaving thousands of unarchived old Roblox games to be purged during this transition due to the complex nature of older experiences that haven't been archived.
• April 25-26 - Roblox changes the UI font in the PC client, from "Gotham" to "Builder", and then changed the mobile client UI font.
• April 30 - Roblox App for Android 5.x (Lollipop) support is deprecated. Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later is now required for the Roblox App.

May

• May 7 - Roblox hits six billion users, with djgejgditdigf being it. However, they skip over 130 million IDs to hit this milestone due to technical reasons.
• May 11 - During the Vietnam Gameverse 2024 event, Roblox announced its partnership with VNG Corporation. It is confirmed that VNG will become the official publisher of Roblox in the Vietnamese market and is expected to be officially released in Vietnam in summer on iOS and Android platforms.
• May 18 - Roblox changes the mobile login screen to a more modern look.
• May 22 - Roblox announces the Roblox Innovation Awards 2024 event that will be on September 7, 2024 in San Jose, California.
• May 23 - The Classic event starts.
• May 28 - The Classic event ends.
• May 29 - Roblox starts replacing the old font "Gotham" and "Arial" with the new "Montserrat" and "Arimo" in Player and Studio. "Gotham" font remains unchanged while typing the in-experience chat. While "Gotham" and "Arial" font file is still exists, it remained unused and untouched, but not removed from the font file inside the Roblox resources. (It wouldn't be until the removal of the old fonts within the next year) It was announced once again on May 15.

• June 1 - Roblox introduces a new feature, "Account Deactivation and Deletion", which allows users to deactivate or delete your account.
• June 11 - ToneMapperPreset was introduced.
• June 13 - Roblox hits seven billion users, with ANIS44415 being the seventh billion user.
• June 17 - Roblox removes User Ads. Previous ad campaign reporting and historical data was available until July 31, 2024.
• June 21 - Two new templates, Laser Tag and FPS System, are added to Roblox Studio.
• June 26 - Roblox introduces the Ban API. The API enables banning of a user from an experience, as well as their suspected alternate accounts. The API was planned to be provided to the Creator Hub in Fall 2024.

July

• July 1 - Voting for Roblox Innovation Awards 2024 started at 10 AM PST.
• July 11 - The name change to "Charts" from "Discover" began rolling out for Roblox desktop and mobile.
• July 14 - Voting for the Roblox Innovation Awards 2024 has concluded.
• July 16 - An new instance ColorGradingEffect was introduced so that you can add to the post processing effects underneath the "Lighting".
• July 20 - Roblox increases the number of people you can block from 100 to 300 for the third time, increasing from 50 to 75 and then 100 in 2021.
• July 23 - Roblox Groups now have an Events page to showcase all current and future events happening within experiences owned by the group.
• July 25
  • A new template, Platformer, is added into Roblox Studio.
  • Roblox experiences an unusual bug which caused ProximityPrompts to reappear out of bounds after being interacted, which impacted an extremely large amount of experiences. This was then fixed at the end of July.

August

• August 1 - The Games event starts.
• August 4 - Roblox reaches a new record of over 10 million concurrent users across all experiences.
• August 7
  • Access to Roblox is blocked in Turkey.
  • The "Classic Baseplate", "Flat Terrain" and "Classic Obby" Roblox Studio templates have their thumbnails updated.
• August 8 - Roblox makes a public statement on the Roblox Corporate blog and X (Twitter) concerning Roblox being blocked in Turkey, noting that they are investigating the concern in order to restore service.
• August 11 - The Games event ends.
• August 13 - Roblox has restricted experiences that contain paid items from UK users under 18.
• August 14 - The "Concert" and "Line Runner" Roblox Studio templates are removed from the template roster.
• August 20 - Asset IDs get changed to be generated randomly from a range of 60 trillion to 200 trillion instead of the 19 billion that were generated sequentially.
• August 21 - Roblox announces in the DevForum that the "Compatibility" lighting technology in Roblox Studio would be sunset to make way from the Retro Tone Mapping over the course of 2 months.
• August 29 - All accounts with a space at the beginning or the end of their username got reset to: username(number) for non-terminated accounts and Account Deleted (id) for terminated accounts.

September

• September 6 – Roblox Studio gets a visual overhaul.
• September 6-7 - Roblox Developers Conference 2024 is held, first announced by Roblox the date of the event for the first time in a DevForum post.
• September 13 – Roblox adds a Hide Avatar Particle Effects in First-Person.

October

• October 3 – The Roblox Studio Start Page gets a complete revamp with a new modern UI.
• October 15 - The topbar menu gets redesigned. This was announced in the DevForum on September 17.
• October 16 - A new template, "UGC Homestore", is added into Roblox Studio.
• October 24 - The Haunt event starts.

November

• November 1 - The Haunt event ends.
• November 3 - Roblox locked the group wall from users under 13 in preparation of the rebrand of groups to communities.
• November 15 - LastOnlineAPI is deprecated from Roblox, meaning users can no longer see the last online date of their or other accounts.
• November 18
  • Users under 13 can no longer play social hangouts or N/A-rated experiences.
  • Roblox introduces the new content maturity rating system which replaces the old rating system.
• November 20 - Roblox changes the name "Groups" to "Communities".
• November 22 - A platform chat is rolled into the hamburger menu, allowing players to be able to text and chat with other players outside of experiences while playing one.
• November 26 - Roblox offers users who bought Robux, on the web and via gift cards 25% more than they would get if purchased from an app store, in order to avoid Apple’s and Google’s in-app purchase fee markups.

December

• December 5 - Roblox expands friend limit to 250.
• December 10 - Occlusion culling is introduced, which allows objects to hide (cull) when they are blocked by another object behind them, improving the performance of the Roblox client. Avatars, lights, shadows and shadow casters are not affected by this, while highly detailed meshes or parts that are small on-screen will not cause occlusion culling.
• December 14 - Roblox had its highest CCU of all time (11.5M) because of the Dress To Impress Winter Update and also other biggest games on Roblox were updated like Fisch and etc.
• December 15 - Blox Fruits sets the record of the largest concurrent player count (2.3 Million) of all time on Roblox due to the Dragon Update. It also created a boycott because the developers promised a revamp, but instead of revamping the fruit, they replaced it, which caused several players to quit or become upset.
• December 17 - Winter Spotlight event starts.
• December 27 (1PM EST) - Roblox has broken another CCU record, this time it was over 12,054,732 players across the platform. Which had beaten the Last Record Of 11.5M The Reason For that is that because it was an Friday after Christmas and usually on Fridays Roblox got it's highest player count in a week
• December 28 - Roblox announces the addition of Feature Packages, in which two are Bundle Package for creating in-game item bundles and Missions Package for creating a quest system, already in beta testing. Third, which is the Season Pass Package, will be available in few weeks.
• December 30 (10AM PT) - Roblox has broken another CCU record, this time it was 12,259,299 players across the platform.
