January[]

  • January 2 - Winter Spotlight event ends.
  • January 4 - Roblox stands to benefit the most with a sake of 66%, already has institutions on the share registry and will likely have to pay attention to their preferences.[1]
  • January 9 - Occlusion culling is now enabled on all platforms except Android.[2]
  • January 13 - Roblox expands the friend limit for second time, increasing from 250 (200 formerly) to 1000.[3]
  • January 15 - Roblox ends support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The only supported versions are now Windows 10 and 11.
  • January 17 - Video assets are allowed be uploaded in Portuguese, Indonesian, Chinese (simplified + traditional), Japanese, and Korean.[4]
  • January 27 - Occlusion culling is now enabled on all platforms including Android.[5]
  • January 30 to February - The order in the settings have changed.
  • January 30[6]
    • Existing UGC characters no longer retarget animations, but new UGC characters support retargeting.
    • Makes PlayerScripts controls enable/disable idempotent for consistent behavior.
    • New Explorer Beta - Fixes scenario where having an open script editor breaks all shortcuts.
    • Fixes clearing search not jumping to your selection if it was already expanded.
    • Roblox announces chat for console.[7]

February[]

  • February 7 - Roblox rolled out a new colour scheme, changing the button colours from green to blue and a darker dark mode.
  • February 10 - Roblox reaches 8 billion players, with the 8 billionth player being called: NAUFAL_GGWP13. The 8th billon player account has terminated.
  • February 11 - Roblox is fully localized into Arabic (right-to-left language), allowing automatic translations, such as experiences.[8]
  • February 20 - Roblox adds chat to console.
  • February 25 - The 16:9 tiles for Home Recommendations are being rolled out on both mobile and tablet platforms, creating opportunities on impressions with personalized thumbnails and allowing to maximize the impact on Home recommendations.[9]

March[]

  • March 6 - Roblox doubles the maximum video upload duration to 60 seconds and triples their monthly upload amount to 10.[10]
  • March 13 - The Hunt: Mega Edition event starts.
  • March 14 - Badges may no longer be visible on Roblox profile pages depending on a user's Inventory visibility settings.
  • March 15 - A Recently Visited is added in the search on the Web version of Roblox.
  • March 17 - Roblox is testing Video Ad Rewards within select games.[11]
  • March 18 - Roblox announces the launch of beta Text Generation API, which is powered by an enhanced open-source LLM, therefore allowing developers to create interactive text-based features like dynamic NPC dialogue and interactive tutorials. The API accepts text prompts and returns text responses (currently English only). Access is limited to ID-verified developers with experiences rated "Moderate" or "Restricted," and requires signing up through a provided form.[12]
  • March 20 - Roblox Studio ends support for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and MacOS 10.13.[13]
  • March 22 - At an Unknown date 16:9 tiles are added to the Sponsored tab.

April[]

  • April 4 - The Hunt: Mega Edition event ends.
  • April 16 - Roblox Player, Roblox Studio icon got changed to blue background Roblox player icon, Roblox Studio black background icon. Roblox has released out new app icons for the Player and Studio for some users on desktop.
  • April 17 - Roblox has been subpoenaed by the Florida governor.
  • April 24 - Roblox introduces regional pricing for passes, allowing it to low as 30% and preview the order before purchasing.[14]
  • April 30 - Legacy Chat system is removed.[15]

May[]

  • May 3 - Roblox Studio has a new UI Interface.
  • May 12 - Roblox removes the "Translate to Original Language" function on an experience page when game translated in other languages.
  • May 13 - IKControlConstraintSupport property is removed as part of rolling out the improved IKControl system.[16]
  • May 14 - Grow a Garden has become the fastest game to ever reach 1B visits 33 days after its release.[17]
  • May 17 - Grow a Garden became the first Roblox game to ever reach 5M+ Concurrent Users, breaking multiple records such as: [18]
    • Most Active Roblox Game.
    • Highest Concurrent Users (CCU) in a single game.
    • First to remain 1M+ CCU in 24 hours.
  • May 22 - The UI Styling has been introduced to Roblox Studio, allowing anyone with accounts to declare and globally apply overrides to UI instance properties, in multiple APIs. However, this is still in Beta.[19]
  • May 24 - Grow a Garden breaks another record for the highest CCU in a game, peaking at around 8,712,914 concurrent players. Due to this abnormally high player count, the servers briefly went down, resulting in the home page not loading.
  • May 31
    • Roblox rolled out granular experience permissions for groups, giving the group owner controls to grant per-experience permissions for specific roles in their group, including play, edit, publish, and view analytics for an experience.[20]
    • Grow a Garden breaks another record for highest CCU and achieves around 11 million players.

June[]

  • June 2 - Roblox introduces a new property "SkyboxOrientation" that rotates the skybox in the experience.[21]
  • June 4 - Roblox releases the Party API. The API allows developers to utilize the party feature, which can be used to enhance gameplay for party members.[22]
  • June 5 - Roblox has fully rolled out the comments feature for Team Create in Roblox Studio to all users.[23]
  • June 6 - Roblox announces the nominations for the Innovation Awards 2025 on the Dev Forum.[24]
  • June 14 - Grow a Garden breaks a new world record with an estimate of 16,039,994 concurrent players. (CCU)
