Hi editors!
Earlier today we introduced a new parameter into the {{Infobox experience}}
template: maturity.
As you are likely aware, Roblox has recently been reworking their content maturity and how young users can access content. As Roblox expands and broadens their allowed content on the platform, it is imperative that they protect their younger users from content designed for older age groups.
A few days ago, Roblox announced on a newsroom post about a few changes they are making to the content labeling system. The biggest change is simple: All experiences are now denoted under one of four distinct 'maturity' tiers: Minimal, Mild, Moderate, and Restricted. Experience developers that do not complete a questionnaire will have their experience labeled as 'N/A', which will limit it to 13+ users.
While each tier has a 'recommended age', the content that users are allowed to access can now be controlled in the Account settings. Accounts can be setup with a linked Parent account, which can manage these settings on behalf of a user.
The below table has been provided by Roblox as a general guideline of how experiences are placed into these tiers.
The point of this announcement is to share that these new maturity levels can now be documented. Experience infoboxes now have a "maturity" parameter which is not case sensitive and takes the following inputs: N/A (or NA), Minimal, Mild, Moderate, and Restricted.
When creating and editing experience pages, please include this parameter so the experience gets categorized appropriately and so that the maturity level is available for readers. The experience's maturity level is stated underneath the experience's description and an example can be seen below.
For editors that are looking to fix all current pages that do not have a documented maturity level, see Category:Experiences without a documented maturity level.
Thank you!
